President Obama Continues His Push for Health Reform with Revised Proposal In quick follow-up to last week’s Summit on health reform, President Obama today presented his revised proposal. He highlighted the three key changes it would make to the health care system: 1. End the worst practices of the insurance companies by eliminating the practice of denying coverage due to preexisting conditions, by eliminating the practice of dropping coverage due to illness, by putting limits on out-of-pocket expenses, and by stopping arbitrary and massive premium increases. President Obama called upon the “leaders of both Houses of Congress to finish their work and schedule a vote in the next few weeks. From now until then, I will do everything in my power to make the care for reform. And I urge every American who wants this reform to make their voices heard as well – every family, every business owner, every patient, every doctor, every nurse.” Read President Obama’s speech in its entirety Read More >
