Early Retiree
Early Retiree Reinsurance Program
Effective June 2010, the Affordable Care Act authorized the Early Retiree Reinsurance Program (ERRP) to reimburse approved employment-based health plans for a portion of the costs of health benefits for early retirees, their spouses, surviving spouses, and dependents.
However, the Early Retiree Reinsurance Program (ERRP) is no longer accepting new applications due to funding limitations. For existing participants, claims will continue to be accepted if incurred on or prior to December 31, 2011. An explanation of the closure of the program to new applicants and existing participants is available here. This news release also explains how current participants should handle existing claims.
At this time, no other information is available.
